Adopt a Dog

The following dogs are looking for a new home.

	Name: Barney Sex: dog Age: about 2 years Information: Barney was found as a stray and after being in the kennels for a long time, he found a home, but has been returned because he needs human company all the time and does not like being left alone. He is good with other dogs and with children. He is looking for a home with somoeone who does not go out to work or works from home, or a family with or without another dog. Barney is a lurcher who we think is crossed with a foxhound. He has been vaccinated and neutered. Berry is in the kennels in Devon.

	Name: Berry Sex: bitch Age: 18 months - 2 years Information: Black lab cross Berry was found as a stray. She looks like a Labrador. Berry is a lovely natured dog who is good with other dogs. We feel sure that she has been used as a breeding machine because it appears that in her short life she has already had two litters of puppies. Berry is a little timid when she meets new people, but once she gets to know you she is very friendly. Berry is in the kennels in Dorset. Waiting for photo.

	Name: Blue Sex: bitch Age: 6 years Information: Doberman Blue has come into the rescue because of a change in her owner's circumstances. Blue has a lovely nature, but she is not too keen on some other dogs, so needs a home where she will be the only dog. 	Name: Buddy Sex: dog Age: 1 year Information: Buddy is a brindle staffy who has been used to children but we feel he would benefit from a home with adults or older children. Buddy loves to play and is good off lead and social with other dogs. Not known with cats. Buddy is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Buster Sex: dog Age: 1 year Information: Brindle Staffordshire bull terrier Buster is a typical, very lively, staffy. He was handed over to the sanctuary because his owner couldn't cope with a young, lively dog. He is a very affectionate dog. Buster is looking for a home where there are no small children. He does need some lead training. Buster is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Charlie Sex: dog Age: 5 years Information: Greyhound cross Charlie (possibly crossed with a Labrador or staffy) has been living in a rural home. He chases deer, but has never brought one down,and is not good with horses. His owner has brought him back to the kennels and he is now looking for a new, urban, home. Charlie is very good with children and has a lovely nature, but he is not cat friendly. He is vaccinated and neutered. Charlie is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Chico Sex: dog Age: 3 years Information: Ex-racing blue greyhound Chico is the friendliest greyhound we have ever had in the kennels. He just loves people and he is also very good with all the other hounds he meets. Chico is also excellent with children. He has one distinctive feature - the end of his tail is missing, possibly it was damaged by either an accident when racing, or maybe by over enthusiastic wagging when he was in his racing kennel and saw anyone walk by. Chico is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Finn Sex: dog Age: 6 years Information: This handsome greyhound is Finn, who spent all of the first 5 years of his life in kennels until he found a loving home, but sadly, due to a change of circumstances, his owner has had to make the difficult decision to return him to the kennels. Finn is a really loving dog, is very clean in the house and usually walks well on the lead. Finn is used to having someone around for most of the time and he loves human company. He would be happy to be an only dog, or in a home where there is already a greyhound or lurcher bitch. He is not very good with smaller dogs, so cannot live with one. Finn is vaccinated, neutered and micro-chipped. Finn is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Fly Sex: bitch Age: 6 years Information: Broken coated lurcher Fly was left with her owner's mother when he left home, and in the two months she was lookng after her she had no walks because of her health problems. She was SO excited when she was taken for her first run in the field at the kennels. Fly was kept in an open kennel in the garden of her home and although she has never lived inside a house she is very clean in her kennel at the sanctuary, so house training her should be no problem. She is a beautiful natured dog and very affectionate. Fly came in early last summer with lurcher Billy, but he found a home a long time ago. She is not keen on the other dogs at the kennels, so we feel that she would happiest in a home where she is the only dog. Fly is in the rescue kennels in Devon.

	Name: George Sex: dog Age: 3 years Information: Ex-racing greyhound George would like a home where he is the only dog. He loves people and will be happiest where he does not have to share his owner with another dog. He is good at jumping,so needs somewhere where the garden has a high fence. He is a black greyhound. 	Name: Gipsy Sex: bitch Age: 2 years Information: Staffy Gipsy has come into the rescue because her elderly died and no-one else in the family could take Gipsy on. She is a friendly, lively dog and has been vaccinated, spayed and micro-chipped. Gipsy is in kennels in Devon.

	Name: Harold Sex: dog Age: 10 years Information: Poor staffy Harold was kept in the cupboard under the stairs by his last owner and when he was rescued he was not able to walk after being imprisoned in such a confined and dark space. With the help of medication and lots of tender lovng care by the staff at the kennels, Harold has learnt to walk again and is now ready to go to a new home. Despite being so cruelly treated in the past, he is a friendly boy and is good with other dogs as well as with people. He would like a home as an only dog or where there is already a female dog. Can you give Harold that home, where he can spend the rest of his life in comfort and being given the love he needs and deserves to have? He has been vaccinated and neutered. 	Name: Honey Sex: bitch Age: about 3 years Information: Mastiff cross Honey has a very gentle nature and is a well behaved girl. As we do not know if she has lived with other dogs in the past we think that she would be happiest in a home where she is the only pet. Honey is in kennels in Devon.

	Name: Jack Sex: dog Age: 14 months Information: Staffy Jack has come into the rescue kennels becasue of a change in his owner's circumstances. He is good with other dogs and with children. He is quite strong on the lead and is scared of cats. Jack is vaccinated and neutered. Jack is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Josie Sex: bitch Age: 2-3 years Information: I am a brindle and white Staffie bitch. I am approximately 2-3 years old. I appear to be loving and friendly and I love to be cuddled and treated kindly. When I arrived at the kennels I was very thin – I am slowly gaining weight and learning to trust people again. I am selectively sociable with other dogs but have not met any cats during my stay at Foredowne.

	Name: Lenny Sex: dog Age: 3 and a half years Information: Brindle and white staffy Lenny has come into the rescue kennels because his owner has had to go back to full time work and leave him on his own all day. Lenny is good with other dogs and good off lead, but he is not good with cats. He has not lived with small children, so any children in his new home should be older ones. He has been vaccinated, neutered and micro-chipped. Lenny is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Lucy Sex: bitch Age: 4 years Information: Pretty little lurcher Lucy has been rescued after spending her days chained up the garden of her owner's home. She is used to children and she is good with some other dogs when out, and loved to run and play with her kennel mate Freddie the lurcher until he found a home on 1 May 2011. Sadly we have not had any home offers for Lucy. She is a very friendly, lovely natured girl who deserves to find a home and someone to love her after never having the chance up to now of any home comforts. Lucy has a tendancy to chase cats and horses, so she needs a home without either of them. Lucy is in kennels in Devon.

	Name: Mabel Sex: bitch Age: about 10 years Information: Collie Mabel has come into the sanctuary because her owner has sadly died. She is a lovely natured girl who is good with other dogs. Could you give Mabel a new home where she can spend the rest of her days?

	Name: Marley Sex: dog Age: born june 2010 Information: Staffy pup Marley has had to come into the rescue kennels because of a change in his family's circumstances. He is good with other dogs, is house-trained, is good on the lead and can be left. He has lived with children and is good with them. Marley is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Max Sex: dog Age: 15 months Information: Staffy Max's owner has had to hand him over to the rescue kennels because of a marriage break-up which has led to him having to move into acomodation where he cannot have any dogs. Max is good with other dogs and is a good traveller. He can be left and has never been destructive. He is very good with strangers. He is not used to children or cats, so is looking for a new home where there are neither.

	Name: Mollie Sex: bitch Age: about 6 years Information: Greyhound Mollie has recently come into the rescue kennels and is around 6 years old. She is good with children, but not small dogs or small animals. Mollie is in kennels in Dorset.

	Name: Oscar Sex: dog Age: 10 years Information: Staffy Oscar has come into the rescue kennels because his owner has had to go into sheltered housing. He is a friendly boy who is good with other dogs. Oscar is in kennels in Dorset. Waiting for photo.

	Name: Penny Sex: bitch Age: 3 years Information: Greyhound Penny has been with her owners for a year, but due to a marriage break-up they can no longer keep her and she has had to come back into the rescue kennels. Penny is a loving, gentle dog who is good with other dogs and has always been fine with the teenage children she has been living with. She is not cat friendly. Penny has been spayed. 	Name: Sky Sex: bitch Age: 8 years Information: White German Shepherd Sky has had to come into the kennels because of a change in her owner's circumstances. She is used to living with another female German Shepherd. She does not like cats, so needs a cat free home and where any children are at least 8 years old. Sky has been vaccinated and spayed. She is in Dorset.

	Name: Stella Sex: bitch Age: 3 years Information: Staffy Stella has come into the rescue kennels because a change of circumstances in her home meant that she was being left on her own all day. She is good with both adults and children and with other dogs, and is fine with other dogs when she is off lead. Stella is a good traveller. She is in kennels in Devon.

	Name: Tessa Sex: bitch Age: not known Information: Tessa needs a loving home where she will get some much needed Tlc She arrived at the kennels looking very thin and is slowly gaining weight. She is sweet natured and knows basic commands. Tessa is a bull terrier cross staffy and is craving attention. Tessa is in kennels in Dorset.
