Adopt a Dog

The following dogs are looking for a new home.

Name: Arnie

Sex: dog

Age: 3 and three quarters

Information: If you like very tall and strikingly handsome brindle dogs, then greyhound Arnie could be the dog for you. He has recently been retired from racing and is looking for his forever home. Arnie is such a friendly, good natured dog. He was born on 28 August 2013 and is in the kennels in Dorset.

   

Name: Billy

Sex: dog

Age: 4 years

Information: Beautiful black greyhound Billy has come into the rescue kennels with his brothers Sethy and Peaky after being retired from racing. He was born on 12 September 2013. Billy is a very friendly, gentle boy who will make a wonderful pet and companion for someone. he can be re-homed with another greyhound or lurcher, or as an only dog as long as he is not left on his own for more than 4 hours a day. Billy can live with children aged over 5 years, but he cannot live with cats. Billy is in the kennels in Devon.

   

Name: Brock

Sex: dog

Age: 1 year

Information: Lurcher cross Brock was found as a stray. He loves people and is very good with other dogs when he is out, but because he is very much a people dog we feel that he will be happiest in a home where he is the only pet. Brock is in the kennels in Devon.

   

Name: Bron

Sex: dog

Age: 7 years

Information: Poor Bron has been passed around a lot recently, through no fault of his own, and so he badly needs a stable home with an experienced owner. He is very good with both adults and children, and because Bron is very much a people person we feel that he will be happiest in a home where he is the only pet. Bron is in the kennels in Devon.

   

Name: Bungle

Sex: dog

Age: 6-7 years

Information: This lovely GSD cross is Bungle. He is a good natured, friendly dog who is very good around other dogs. He is looking for home with no children. Bungle is in the kennels in Devon.

   

Name: Jayjay

Sex: dog

Age: 2 and a half years

Information: Jayjay is a handsome black greyhound who came into the rescue kennels 8 months ago and sadly there has been no interest in him from anyone. He has a very gentle nature and is good with other greyhounds, but he has never met any small dogs, so will need careful introduction to them. Jayjay is looking for a home with a female greyhound or lurcher, or as an only dog, as long as he is not left on his own for more than 4 hours a day. Jayjay is in the kennels in Dorset. Age: 4 years

Age: about 6 years

Information: Beautiful brindle lurcher Penny has been in the rescue kennels and hoping to find a home for a long time. She was found as stray in Wales and taken in by an inner city rescue. While there Penny she was attacked by another dog, which made her wary of other dogs. Since coming to the SDS rescue, she has seemed to be OK while near other dogs, so hopefully she is starting to overcome her fear of them. She has had one of her toes removed. Penny is very affectionate and loves people. We feel that she would be happiest in a home where she is the only dog. Penny can be left for a few hours. She is in the kennels in Devon.

   

Name: Queenie

Sex: bitch

Age: 5 years

Information: Greyhound Queenie has been retired from racing and is now looking for her forever home. She is a friendly, beautiful natured girl who is good with other dogs. Queenie is very food orientated, so offering her food treats when her teaching new commands should make training easy. Queenie is in Dorset.

Age: 4 years

Information: Beautiful black greyhound Seth has come into the rescue kennels with his brothers Peaky and Billy after being retired from racing. He was born on 12 September 2013. Seth is a lovely, affectionate boy who will make a wonderful pet and companion for someone. Name: Skye

Sex: bitch

Age: about 8 years

Information: Skye is a lovely English Bull Terrier cross who is approximately 8 years old. Skye is a lovely natured girl who is so affectionate with people and always wants lots of love and cuddles. She is still very active and loves her walks and enjoys a play so would like somewhere where she can still get out and about a lot and investigate her surroundings. Skye only knows a couple of commands, however she is very focused and eager to learn and we have found that a few tasty treats definitely help. As with all our dogs we would recommend carrying on her training with positive reinforcement to help her progress. Skye appears to be sociable with the dogs; however she CAN’T share her home with small animals or small dogs. Sky is suitable to be homed with children 6yrs +.

   

Name: Smurf

Sex: dog

Age: almost 5 years

Information: Beautiful blue and white greyhound Smurf is looking for his forever home now that his racing days are over. He is a medium sized greyhound and has such a friendly, gentle nature. Smurf loves people and gets on well with other greyhounds. He is looking for a home with another greyhound or lurcher, or as an only dog, as long as he is not left on his own for more than 4 hours a day. He can live with children aged 5 and over. Smurf is in the kennels in Devon.

   

Name: Yorkies

Sex: dogs

Age: 13 years

Information: Yorkies Billy, Oscar and Alfie are brothers and have always lived together with their owner, but sadly a change of circumstances means that he can no longer keep them and they have had to come into the rescue kennels. Ideally we would like to find a home for them where they can stay together for the rest of their lives, but if this proves to be impossible we may have to consider separating them. Billy, Oscar and Alfie are well behaved, get on well with other dogs, are good on and off lead and can be left. They are not used to very small children.
